How does ActiveCare know if I fall?

The GPS Safety Cell Phone detects a fall through the built-in accelerometer, which automatically notifies the CareCenter.

What happens when I fall?

The GPS Safety Cellular Phone will announce that a fall has been detected. A CareSpecialist will be notified and then ask if you are in need of assistance. The CareSpecialist’s voice can be heard through the speaker on the GPS Safety Cellular Phone.

What if my fall is an emergency?

A CareSpecialist will inquire if it is an emergency and will send help if needed. If there is no response, a CareSpecialist will follow the safety protocol, which includes calling your home, calling the emergency contact, and calling emergency services (when needed).

Do I have to be carrying or wearing my GPS Safety Cellular Phone for fall detection to be activated?

What is Roadside Assistance?

Can I use my own Roadside Assistance provider?

Yes, a CareSpecialist can store account number and phone number so you can press one button and the CareSpecialist will call the provider, explain the situation, and send help.

If I don't have a Roadside Assistance provider, how will I get help?

CareSpecialists will contact a Roadside Assistance provider and send help. Costs will be the responsibility of the member.

EMERGENCY SERVICES

If I have an emergency, how will you find me?

CareCenter will dispatch help, using GPS to identify your location if your are away from home.

How are CareSpecialists trained to help me?

Every CareCenter Specialist receives the same training as emergency medical dispatchers (911 operator) from the National Academy of Emergency Dispatch. In addition, CareSpecialists are trained in Time Life priority situations and can provide instructions while emergency services are dispatched.

If I need help, will my ActiveCare Specialist stay on the phone with me?

Yes, your CareSpecialist will stay on the phone with you until emergency personnel arrive. CareSpecialists are the first responder to an emergency situation and will also provide the EMTs or hospital personnel with your medical history, medications, etc.

Do we have to sign any contracts or agreements?
